Within the activities of the EnIL network (www.ceris.cnr.it/Basili/EnIL/index.html) I coordinate, the second edition of the EnIL International School on Business Information Literacy (http://enil.ceris.cnr.it/SummerSchool/index.htm) will be held in Rome from 13 to 17 October 2008.
Topics covered:
* The current information scenario: characteristics, benefits, problems
* Information Literacy as a requirement for an Information Society
* Approaches and frameworks to Information Literacy
* Value of information
* The scientific information universe
* The business information universe
* Digital libraries
* Methodologies for information organisation and delivery
* Tools for information access
* Limits of the Internet information environment
* Criteria for evaluating information sources
* Structure of scientific literature and scientific writing style
with a further specialised section devoted to business information. Teachers will be Information Literacy experts and representatives from the major suppliers of information services (Thomson Reuters, Questel, Minesoft, Cas/Stn, …).
Early registration fee is 150 Euro (within 18 August 2008).
Late registration fee is 200 Euro.
Special registration fee: 30 EUR for participants from the following countries: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine.
